When first deciding to either sell or buy a home, it may be helpful to meet with a real estate agent.  The real estate agent will ask you what you are interested in doing and then help to fulfill those goals.  It is recommended to work with a local real estate agent that is familiar with the community.  Many jurisdictions have real estate agents available at the neighborhood offices waiting to assist the new customer.  It is often ironic though that most buyers find a real estate agent by accident and the sellers have often interviewed several real estate agents to select the best person.
